Celebrating Success – Cutting It - February 2006
It has been a very busy start to the year installing a new state of the art, 6kw Trumpf 4 x 2 flat bed laser machine at the Laser Cutting Co, in Sheffield so John Stalker MD thought it was time to relax - for just a brief while and invited over a few friends to enjoy the moment the machine became productive.

As the first cut parts came off the new (£500,000 plus) laser cutting facility for Grorud Engineering, Co Durham (a long standing Customer) the staff at Laser Cutting celebrated the occasion over a glass of champagne with a small team of suppliers, customers and financial supporters.

Neil Cosford for Cromar part of the Hunting PLC who specialise in Oil Exploration came down especially from Aberdeen to be at the opening event. Neil, who has been a customer of Laser Cutting for many years, said “It is just amazing to see the progress made at Laser Cutting – I have been coming here for over 15 years and the speed of change and improvement I have seen in the last 2 years has been nothing short of phenomenal”.

Further investments at Laser Cutting include for the first time a Press Brake Facility and in house welding to allow Customers to be able to look at the Company as more of a one stop shop for completed components.

Part of the investments at Laser Cutting have been supported by a Grant from Yorkshire Forward.

With all new / modern automatic machinery throughout we are really well placed to grow and keep The Laser Cutting Co at the very forefront of servicing the metals industry throughout the UK”.
